HC Deb 20 March 1984 vol 56 cc409-10W
Mr. Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish in the Official Report a table listing the centres run by the Young Men's Christian Association's training for life programme notified to the Manpower Services Commission as having to close as a result of withdrawal of training funds, together with the number of staff to be made redundant and the number of training places lost at each centre; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Morrison

The YMCA Grimsby training for life scheme, which has 80 approved training places, will close at the end of March. The YMCA has already made 11 staff redundant and the remaining five staff will be made redundant at the end of March. There are currently no proposals to close other training for life programmes, although a number will be reduced in size.
