§ Mr. Norman Atkinsonasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what aid his Department and the former Department of Industry has given to British manufacturers of office duplicators and copiers in the last five years; and to what purpose such aid has been used.
§ Mr. ButcherManufacturers of duplicators and copiers are, in common with manufacturing industry generally, eligible for financial assistance under a number of schemes administered by the Department. Over the past five years £83 million of selective assistance has been provided to the information technology industry (which includes duplicator and copier manufacturers). It is not possible to identify, without disproportionate cost, the part of this sum which went to manufacturers of duplicators and copiers.
