asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what direct or indirect assistance is given by his Department to the International Centre for Child Studies.

My right hon. Friend attended the launch of the International Centre for Child Studies last year. Officials at DHSS have had discussions with Professor Butler about his programme and the need for support.
