Mr. McTaggart

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish the results of the investigations by the Wages Councils Inspectorate in (a) Scotland (West) division and (b) Scotland, in each of the past four years for which figures are available, showing (i) the number of workers whose wages were checked, (ii) the number and percentage of those workers who were being illegally underpaid, (iii) the total amount of underpayments involved and (iv) the total amount of arrears paid, dividing the figures into those which involved a visit from the Wages Councils Inspectorate and those which did not.

The figures requested are given in table A for the Scotland (West) Division of the Wages Inspectorate and in table B for Scotland as a whole.
