asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will estimate the percentage of personal disposable incomes which is spent on local rates.

§ Mr. Moore
In 1983–84, domestic rates, excluding both rate rebates and domestic rate relief, are estimated to raise nearly £5 billion, equivalent to just under 2½ per cent. of personal disposable income for that year.
