asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish for the year 1984–85 the notional housing revenue account deficits and surpluses for individual local authorities in England, as calculated for housing grant related expenditure account purposes.

Yes. This information will be published in a few weeks' time in "The Technical Handbook of Grant Related Expenditure 1984–85". Copies will be placed in the Library of the House.

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish, with the assumptions involved, the notional national aggregate housing revenue account for English local authorities which forms the basis of the housing grant related expenditure account assessment for block grant purposes.

The information is as follows. The national total of GRE for this service in 1984–85 is £266 million and includes the sum of £19.4 million for unrecharged general administration.
