HC Deb 19 March 1984 vol 56 cc341-2W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the recent Bow Group pamphlet by Mr. Michael Stephen, a copy of which has been sent to him by the hon. Member for Linlithgow, which proposes that both the United Kingdom and Argentina should abandon their claim to the Falkland Islands.

Mr. Whitney

We have no intention of renouncing our sovereignty over the Falkland Islands.

Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will arrange for an all-party committee to visit the Falkland Islands.

Mr. Whitney

My right hon. and learned Friend has at present no plans to do so. It is, of course, for Committees of the House to arrange their programmes in the manner they themselves judge to be most appropriate.
