§ Mr. Freudasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) if he will publish the time scale for decision-making on the recent University Grants Committee working paper on continuing education; and if he will make a statement;
(2) what level of resources he will provide in order to implement the proposals outlined in the University Grants Committee working paper on continuing education.
§ Mr. BrookeThe University Grants Committee has published for discussion the report of its continuing 355W education working party. The committee has as yet reached no conclusions on the report: my right hon. Friend can therefore give no timetable for decision-making on any advice the committee may eventually give him, nor any indication of what those decisions might be.
