§ Mr. Dubsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he plans to visit the Channel Islands; how long he will be there; whom he will meet; and what is the purpose of his visit.
§ Mr. MellorMy right hon. and learned Friend will be visiting the Channel Islands for four days at the end of April. He will be meeting the Lieutenant Governors and representatives of the island authorities. It has been a longstanding practice for Home Secretaries to make such visits to reflect their responsibilities for certain island matters and to improve their knowledge of the islands. In addition to these purposes, the meetings will provide an opportunity for discussions of matters of mutual interest.
