HC Deb 15 March 1984 vol 56 c253W
Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many Rowton hotels for the single homeless exist in London; who owns them; and what their future will be in the event of the abolition of the Greater London council.

Sir George Young

There are three former Rowton hotels for the single homeless in London. Two of these are owned by the London boroughs concerned, namely, Camden and Lambeth. The other former hotel is at present owned by the Greater London council but in July 1985 ownership will pass to the London borough of Tower Hamlets.
