HC Deb 15 March 1984 vol 56 c234W
Mr. Michael Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether the Nissan Motor Company has yet decided on a location for its United Kingdom plant.

Mr. Norman Lamont

Executives from Nissan have reviewed all eight sites on their original short list. I understand that the company has now proposed further discussions with local authorities on three of these sites, those at Shotton (Clywd), Immingham (Humberside) and Sunderland airport (Tyne and Wear). A final decision is still expected by the end of March.
