§ Mr. Peter Morrison[pursuant to his reply, 8 March 1984, c. 674]: The information is not available in the form requested. The latest figures available, which are as follows, show the numbers of people supported on the Government's special employment and training measures.
- Community Industry (1): 147 (66 male, 81 female)
- Community Programme (2): 3,741 (78 per cent. male, 22 per cent. female) (28 per cent. occupied by young people aged 18 to 20).
- Enterprise Allowance Scheme: 715 (88 per cent. male, 12 per cent. female).
- Job Release Scheme: 53 (48 male, five female).
101 - Young Workers Scheme: 624.
- Youth Training Scheme (3): 8,493 (57 per cent. male, 43 per cent. female).
- (1) This figure relates to the Birmingham metropolitan district at 12 January 1984. It is not possible to give a figure for Erdington.
- (2) The figure given is for the Birmingham community programme area at 31 January 1984. A figure for Erdington constituency could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. the percentages given for male, female and young people are approximate.
