HC Deb 13 March 1984 vol 56 cc129-30W
Mr. George

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many interviews have been given to journalists by senior officers in the armed forces and in his Department in each of the last six months; and what is the current policy of Her Majesty's Government towards permitting such interviews to take place.

Mr. Stanley

The information requested is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. The policy for such interviews is laid down in Service Queen's Regulations (Queen's Regulations Royal Navy, Chapter 24; Queen's Regulations Army, Chapter 12, and Queen's Regulations Royal Air Force, Chapter 36), copies of which are in the Library.
