Mr. Butler

This is a matter for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, but I understand from the chairman that the Housing Executive has no proposals to start new work on dwellings in the Newry town area during the 1984–85 financial year.

Mr. Nicholson

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many new houses the Northern Ireland Housing Executive has built, or is in the process of building, in the Newry town area in the financial year 1983–84.

Mr. Chris Patten

This is a matter for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, but I understand from the chairman that the Housing Executive has recently completed 23 dwellings in High street/Well lane, and 41 dwellings in phase 2, Dominic street, are planned to go on site later this month.
