asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what are the salaries and expenses of the chairman and members of the Crofters Commission for the last three years for which figures are available.

^* Five members were paid at the rates of £4,441.7, £4,753 and £5,415 in each of the years respectively. A sixth member who has additional territorial responsibility and also acts as vice-chairman was paid at twice those rates.
