§ Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what is (a) the number of claimants reliant on a national insurance benefit or supplementary allowance as their main source of income who are not registered as unemployed or over pension age and (b) the number of people in receipt of a national insurance benefit or supplementary pension who are over pension age;
(2) if he will estimate the number of persons who were dependent for their principal support on welfare benefits, pensions, and so on of all types in 1979–80, 1982–83 and 1983–84.
