§ Mr. Wallerasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement about the participation of his Department in consultations concerning the international standardisation of telephone tones.
§ Mr. ButcherInternational standardisation of telephone tones is at present under consideration by the Conference of European Post and Telecommunications. My Department has been involved in the initial discussions and will continue to participate in the future studies. At present it is too early to give any indication of the possible outcome of the studies.
