School Crossing Patrols

Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the grant-related expenditure assessment for the provision of school crossing patrols in each of the metropolitan county council areas; and how that compares with the actual level of spending on those patrols by each of the metropolitan county councils in the latest available year.

The GRE figures are those notified to authorities at the time of the 1982–83 RSG settlement and include a small amount of general administration. The expenditure figures are authorities' provisional outturn expenditure for 1982–83, as reported in revenue outturn forms.
