HC Deb 12 March 1984 vol 56 cc41-2W
Mr. Stuart Holland

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action he is taking to make funds available through the United Nations or other appropriate organisations for emergency relief inside Kampuchea, in view of the recent drought, floods and cyclone.

Mr. Luce

We continue to monitor carefully the situation inside Cambodia at the regular meetings of international aid donors. Since 1981 we have concentrated on providing food and medical aid through United Nations agencies and the Red Cross to those Cambodians in refugee camps in Thailand or those who have fled to the Thai border areas and have no other means of support.

There has been no recent appeal for emergency relief inside Cambodia but we would carefully consider any such appeal.
