Mr. Malone

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what financial allocations he has made to health boards for 1984–85.

Mr. Younger

I have allocated £1,266 million to health boards to meet their recurrent expenditure commitments on hospitals and community health services in 1984–85, and £35 million for their ordinary capital programme. After expected income is taken into account the net cash limited allocations to individual health boards are as follows:

In addition to these allocations, I intend to distribute £16.8 million to boards for expenditure on improvement and refurbishment of hospitals and NHS buildings in 1984–85.
