asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether Her Majesty's Government have now decided to establish resident diplomatic representation in El Salvador and Nicaragua.

Mr. Whitney

Yes. Resident diplomatic representation will be re-established shortly in both El Salvador and Nicaragua. It is envisaged that first secretaries will be appointed to take up residence as charges d'affaires. The ambassadors in Tegucigalpa and San Jose will continue to be accredited as non-resident ambassadors at San Salvador and Managua respectively.
