be designed and fitted to existing power stations so as to reduce emissions in line with the 40 per cent. reduction proposed by the Commission.
§ Mr. Loydenasked the Secretary of State for Energy (1) what representations have been made to him by the consultative councils of the regional electricity boards on the proposed increases in electricity charges;
(2) what representations have been made to him by the Merseyside and North Wales electricity boards consultative council about increased electricity charges.
§ Mr. Giles ShawThe chairman of several consultative councils (including the council for the MANWEB area) have written to me expressing concern about area electricity boards' tariff proposals for 1984–85. I shall be replying to them as soon as possible.
