HC Deb 08 March 1984 vol 55 c712W
Mr. Orme

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what was the share of solid fuels and nuclear energy, respectively, in United Kingdom electricity production in 1983.

Mr. Giles Shaw

The fuel used for electricity generation by the public supply system is given in the Department of Energy's "Energy Trends". Based on the provisional figures for 1983 published in the February edition, the coal share was 75.4 per cent. and the nuclear share was 15.3 per cent.
