asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list the cancer rates for each of the health authority areas in the United Kingdom.

The following table gives newly diagnosed cases of cancer for the latest available year for the regional health authorities of England, for Wales and for Scotland. Statistics are not analysed centrally for smaller health areas and could be compiled only at disproportionate cost.
