Mr. Dobson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many payments of supplementary benefit have been made by each local office of his Department in the London borough of Camden to people who suffered wrongful voluntary unemployment deductions; and what was the total amount paid, respectively, as a result of the scrutiny of current cases and the publicity campaign on old cases.

Statistics of supplementary benefit payments of voluntary unemployment deductions are not available for the London borough of Camden. Three local offices serve the constituency Euston, Finsbury Park and Highgate. The total number and amount of supplementary benefit payments for voluntary unemployment deductions made by those offices in the period from August 1983 to 14 February 1984, the latest available period were as follows:
