HC Deb 07 March 1984 vol 55 c584W
Mr. Gould

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will publish figures showing the annual rate of change in output per head of the working population over the past 30 years together with a table showing for each period to date the average rate of increase in the real money supply and the average rate of interest.

Mr. Ian Stewart

Information on output per head since 1960 is published inEconomic Trends (Annual Supplement 1984 Edition, page 97); information prior to 1960 is not available.

There is no simple measure of real money supply. Nominal money supply statistics from 1963 onwards are published in various issues of the Bank of England Quarterly Bulletin and Financial Statistics.

Interest rate information is published in the Bank of England Statistical Abstract (1970, 1975 issues) and in Financial Statistics.
