§ Mr. WaldegraveAs I indicated in answer to the hon. Member for Southwark and Bermondsey (Mr. Hughes) on 2 February 1984 at column356, the Government have reservations about the scientific basis of the proposal for an EC directive on air quality standards for nitrogen dioxide. That proposal is still under negotiation within the European Community.
