Mr. J. Enoch Powellasked the Attorney-General what corresponding change in the law in Northern Ireland to that resulting from the Foreign Limitation Periods Bill [Lords] will be required; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. PriorI have been asked to reply.
The law in Northern Ireland in relation to limitation of actions is similar, but not identical, to that in England and Wales. Changes to the law in Northern Ireland corresponding to those contained in the Foreign Limitation Periods Bill will be required, and accordingly a proposal for a draft Order in Council under paragraph 1 of schedule 1 to the Northern Ireland Act 1974 will be published later this year embodying the necessary changes to the law in Northern Ireland.
