Mr. Hannam

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) for each region, what is the mean rate of expenditure per 1,000 population for telephone installations and rentals for disabled people; and for each region what is the estimated numbers of registered disabled people per 1,000 population;

(2) what is the latest figure available on the number of telephone installations supplied by local authorities to their disabled residents;

(3) for each local authority what is (a) the expenditure per 1,000 population and (b) the number of installations per 1,000 population, made in respect of telephones to disabled residents for each year since 1978; what is the estimated number of disabled residents in each local authority for each year; and if he will make a statement.
