§ 25. Mr. Proctorasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement with regard to the number of council and development corporation houses sold to sitting tenants since May 1979.
§ Mr. GowAn estimated 605,000 houses and flats were sold by local authorities in Great Britain between April 1979 and December 1983, and an estimated 28,000 houses and flats were sold by new towns over the same period. Most of these sales were to sitting tenants.
