§ Mr. Andrew F. Bennettasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will publish the report he received from the University Grants Committee on its consultations about the future of the universities and place copies of all the submissions the University Grants Committee received in answer to its questions, unless such submissions were marked confidential, in the Library.
§ Mr. BrookeIt is for respondents to the University Grants Committee's consultative letter of 1 November 1983 to consider whether their replies should be published. My right hon. Friend intends to publish the UGC submission on the future development of higher education which he expects to receive from the committee in the summer. This will contain a summary of the responses received. I shall take the committee's advice then on whether this should be supplemented by placing any individual responses in the Library.
