asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have yet submitted written observations in the case of application No. 10550/83, European Commission v. The United Kingdom, concerning union membership, free choice, and if so, to what effect.

The Minister of State, Privy Council Office, and Minister for the Arts (The Earl of Gowrie)

Her Majesty's Government are currently considering the application cited with a view to submitting early written observations on it to the European Commission of Human Rights.
