HC Deb 06 March 1984 vol 55 cc513-4W
Mr. Favell

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what records he has of a pirate radio station, KFM, broadcasting in the Stockport area on 94.2 MHz VHF; and what steps he proposes to take against this station.

Mr. Alexander Fletcher

An unlicensed radio station using the name KFM was first heard broadcasting in the Stockport area on 31 January on a frequency of 94.2 MHz. The radio interference service traced the transmissions to premises in Marple, near Stockport, but found the transmitter unmanned. The station is broadcasting again and investigations are continuing to locate the operators.

Mr. Gorst

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many representations he has received, and from what organisations, on the subject of pirate radio broadcasts.
