HC Deb 06 March 1984 vol 55 c555W
Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many patients in Wales are awaiting kidney transplants; how many National Health Service beds are at present available for renal patients; and what proposals he has to extend National Health Service facilities in Wales for these patients.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

There were six patients on the waiting list for kidney transplants in Wales on 1 March 1984. There are 19 NHS dialysis beds and nine kidney transplant beds in Wales. We plan to add 12 new dialysis beds.
