§ Mr. ScottSince 1 January 1981 a total of 51 cases involving death or injury allegedly caused as the result of the use of baton rounds have been referred by the police 479W to the Director of Public Prosecutions for Northern Ireland. Information prior to this date could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.
§ Mr. Corbynasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland who manufactures the plastic bullets supplied to the Royal Ulster Constabulary.
§ Mr. ScottSupplies of baton rounds have been obtained by the Police Authority for Northern Ireland from the Ministry of Defence and from commercial sources. It is not considered to be in the public interest to publish the names of individual manufacturers of plastic baton rounds supplied to the police.
