HC Deb 05 March 1984 vol 55 c396W
Mr. Mikardo

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what investigations the Metropolitan police are carrying out of persons whose names they acquired from the material they obtained and copied from Mr. Duncan Campbell.

Mr. Hurd

The Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis tells me that the investigations carried out in this case relate exclusively to possible offences under the Official Secrets Act in connection with certain documents which were found in Mr. Campbell's possession. A report on the case has been considered by the Director of Public Prosecutions, and it was announced on 1 March that he has decided that no further action should be taken in the case.
