HC Deb 05 March 1984 vol 55 cc419-20W
Mr. Soames

asked the Secretary of State for Transport (1) when his Department will be announcing the results of the study on track keeping at Gatwick airport;

(2) which body is responsible for the standard of track keeping at Gatwick airport.

Mr. David Mitchell

The Civil Aviation Authority makes periodic studies for my Department of track keeping accuracy at Gatwick and I expect the results for the current one during this summer. It is the responsibility of aircraft captains to comply with the minimum noise routes. I am arranging for a notice to airmen (NOTAM) to be issued reminding them of their responsibilities in this respect.
