HC Deb 05 March 1984 vol 55 c394W
Mr. Orme

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what level of financial assistance the United Kingdom received from the EEC towards its energy programme in the last five years; and how it was allocated to different programmes.

Mr. Peter Walker

From April 1979 to December 1983, energy projects and measures in the United Kingdom have benefitted from funding by the EEC of around £570 million. Support has covered, inter alia, development of gas and electricity infrastructure, energy research, development and demonstration, and projects which promote new technology in exploration, production transport and storage of oil and gas.
