Mr. Jim Callaghanasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement on the role of further education colleges in their development of drop-in workshops and open learning in the implementation of the new adult training strategy.
§ Mr. BrookeDrop-in workshops are a feature of some open learning developments being pursued in different areas of the country, with the aim of making further education and training accessible to those unable to attend college on a conventional basis. Flexible arrangements such as these may have a valuable role to play in the implementation of the Government's proposals for an adult training strategy.
