HC Deb 02 March 1984 vol 55 c367W
Mr. Greenway

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many of the 110,000 acres of land on the land registers he assesses to have a reasonable prospect of residential or commercial development within the next five years.

Mr. Macfarlane

At the latest analysis, for 1 January, figures for these two end uses were not specifically distinguished from others, but overall nearly 49,000 acres have been assessed as having medium to high potential for residential, commercial, industrial or other development. The timing of development depends on the circumstances of each site.
