HC Deb 01 March 1984 vol 55 c337W
Mr. Stephen Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will provide financial assistance towards the establishment of a school of chiropody at Southampton to serve the Wessex health region.

Mr. John Patten

No. The Wessex regional health authority has plans to provide a much needed school of chiropody in Southampton and has undertaken to fund the total capital costs and a substantial proportion of the revenue costs. The funding of the balance of the revenue costs is still a matter for further discussion between our officials and officials of the Department of Education and Science.
