HC Deb 29 June 1984 vol 62 c553W
Mr. Deakins

asked the Prime Minister (1) if she accepts in principle the case for a 40 per cent. increase in the level of value added tax contributions to the Common Market own resources; and if she will publish a White Paper setting out the reasons and circumstances in which her agreement would be forthcoming;

(2) if she is satisfied that European Economic Community Heads of Government have sufficient financial information available to them on which to base a decision increasing Common Market own resources.

The Prime Minister

I refer the hon. Gentleman to the statement I made to the House on 27 June 1984 at column 993 on the outcome of the European Council meeting at Fontainebleau.
