HL Deb 27 June 1984 vol 453 c1023WA
Lord Sefton of Garston

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they are aware of any proposals to abolish the regional boards of the electricity supply industry and what the Government's policy is in this matter.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Energy (The Earl of Avon)

The Government are not aware of any proposals to abolish electricity boards. I understand that the Central Electricity Generating Board is currently reviewing the future development of its internal structure: this is a matter for that board.
