§ Dr. Mawhinneyasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many of the Norway spruce tree population of the United Kingdom were killed by disease in each of the last five years; and how many of these were killed by disease bought into the United Kingdom in the bark of Christmas trees imported from Holland and Belgium.
§ Mr. John MackayThere has been no significant incidence of deaths of Norway spruce trees from disease, and none so far as I am aware as a consequence of importing Christmas trees.
