asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will give a breakdown of the council-owned homes in each Leicestershire local authority empty for more than one year, expressed as a percentage of the total housing stock of each authority.

According to local authorities' most recent housing investment programme returns, copies of which are in the Library, the numbers of dwellings owned by Leicestershire local authorities which had been empty for more than a year on 31 March 1983, and the percentages which these numbers represented of the councils' stock, were:
