§ Mr. HayhoeAs my right hon. Friend informed the House in his Budget statement, the increase in the duty on beer was the minimum amount needed to comply with the judgment of the European Court of Justice and maintain the revenue. It is too soon to assess changes of shares in the market for alcoholic drinks.
