§ Mr. Neil Thorneasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he has any changes in mind for the directorate of the Territorial Army and Cadets as a result of his recent paper on management information system for Ministers and the development of the organisation for defence.
§ Mr. LeeAs proposals are developed for the MOD organisation, we shall be considering carefully what the arrangements should be for reserves, the Territorial Army and Cadets—who make such a valuable contribution to our defence effort. We shall need to ensure that there is appropriate machinery to develop policy centrally but also that we devolve management responsibilities wherever possible. Detailed arrangements have still to be formulated.
