I am satisfied that the corporation is carrying out efficiently the various duties devolved upon it as a development control authority and is properly carrying out the defined consultation processes.

§ Sir George YoungLDDC's prime housing objective is to bring about significant improvement in the choice and quality of housing, principally by securing the construction of new dwellings and in particular to
promote the growth of owner-occupation: secure a range of size and price; encourage housing associations and local authorities to participate in measures to promote mixed tenures on sites and foster balanced communities; release, where appropriate, land to local authorities to build housing for rental and shared ownership; and assist with the upgrading of rundown local authority estates.
