§ Mr. Skinnerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what was the average housing subsidy per dwelling per year allocated by central Government in 1979–80 and 1983–84.
§ Sir George YoungOn the basis of claim forms submitted to my Department, the average main housing subsidy per dwelling paid to local authorities in England was £258.38 in 1979–80 and is estimated at £86.37 in 1983–84. The subsidy system has changed during this period, so comparison between the two years are of limited value.
