§ Sir Keith JosephWe have made it clear that we believe that there should be a practical element in the curriculum for all pupils and that the technical and vocational aspect should have its proper place. It is, however, for the schools themselves to put that principle into effect; we hope that the lessons to be learnt from the technical and vocational education initiative will be widely disseminated as a contribution to that process.
